The summer programme is part of the Urban Institute’s 10 year anniversary celebrations and also marks 60 years since the establishment of urban studies and planning scholarship and research at the University of Sheffield.

Workshop on Urban crisis in South African and Colombian cities

Urban Institute Associate Melanie Lombard recently ran a final project workshop in Cape Town, collaborating with South African and Colombian scholars and activists as part of her British Academy Urban crisis project.

PLURALIZE symbols — 义 (Yi) means “appropriateness” or “righteousness,” referring to what is morally right and fitting. It conveys the virtue of doing what is just, acting with integrity, and upholding moral principles, regardless of personal gain.

Climate urbanism researcher honored with award for outstanding contributions to climate science

Professor Vanesa Castán Broto, from the Urban Institute at the University of Sheffield, has received an AXA Award for her outstanding contribution to climate science. The Award is endowed with €50,000.
